Lido and Thaler Area, Hard/Austria

The Austrian market town of Hard has the largest marina on Lake Constance. The open spaces on Hard's inland basin are to be comprehensively upgraded. The lido, the lakeside restaurant and the yacht club are to be planned in terms of structural engineering.
The design is based on the interpretation of the various harbour basins as a series of independent open spaces with different atmospheres and characteristic edges.This variance is emphasised by precise interventions along the shoreline.The new harbour promenade, the harbour square and the new lido building emphasise the urban-maritime character of the customs harbour.The spacious harbour square stretches between the inland basin, customs harbour and sports harbour.The new lido building forms the northern end of the square as a strong solitaire on the square. To the north of this are the extensive newly planned facilities of the lido.
