Market Square Neuerburg
Neuerburg's location in the valley of the Enz River falling at the mill, the damp moss in the dense forest, after the ascent the view of the compact town overlooked by the church and castle: a walk reveals the partly hidden treasures around the compact old town and its 'new' market square. We understand it as the heart of the town - in everyday life as well as during festivities. Neuerburg's old town is brought together as a whole by a uniform paving carpet. A high-quality and precisely fitted 'tableau' accentuates the center of the square. A warm gray pavement reinforces this as a stage for urban life. The scale of the urban space formerly built on this spot thus becomes legible again as a free interpretation. On the long sides, trees and rows of benches support the spatial setting of the tableau. In the light shade, generous benches and loosely arranged armchairs offer a high lingering quality to the 'inside and outside' and at the same time the best view of the surrounding city and Eifel landscape. The narrow, rushing river in the valley and the rough slate on the steep valley slopes inspire a special vegetative inlay, which forms a green accent slightly raised as a 'quotation of the landscape'. The same-level 'Neuerburger Brunnenspiel' forms a playful and invigorating moment on the square.
